PSA-2 Parallel-to-Serial Adapters

WTI's PSA-2 parallel-to-serial adapter connects to a PC's 25-pin parallel port and converts it to a 25-pin male serial port. It can greatly extend the distance restrictions of parallel ports. Printers, plotters and printer sharing units can be located over 500 feet from the computer.

The PSA-2 transmits at 1200, 9600 or 19.2K baud and responds to Ready/Busy hardware flow control signals. Since it is a transmit only device, the PSA-2 does not respond to XON/XOFF characters.

Snap Adapters and Phone Cables

WTI offers a selection of RS-232 to telephone cable (RJ11) Snap™ Adapters and six conductor phone cables for use with your PSU. Please contact WTI for assistance in selecting the appropriate Snap Adapters for your application.

Memory Expansion

Memory expansion kits are available from WTI to increase PSU memory storage to 512 KBytes, 1 Megabytes, or 2 Megabytes. Complete installation instructions are supplied with each kit.

Data Cables

WTI offers a full line of serial and parallel data cables for most applications. Here are some cables you can use with the PSUs. M= male, F= female. Substitute cable length -10, 15, 25, 50 or 100 ft. for LL below.

 

RS422 Options

The PSU can be ordered with an RS422 interface in place of any RS-232 ports. Contact WTI for ordering information.

WTI’s LD-4 RS422 Line Driver is available to connect the PSU to an RS422 interface, or to extend data transmission up to one mile. The unit is self-powered and has LED indicators to monitor the data transmission.
